This series of nine cyanotype photographic prints were produced during daylight hours on 23rd September 2019, Autumn Equinox. The prints are on cartridge and watercolour paper, and measure 20.5cm x 20.5cm square.
The nature of cyanotype photography means that when developed outdoors in UV light from the sun, the prints document a unique quality of light that cannot be replicated. The light ‘caught’ in these prints are from 8:40am GMT onwards, which is the moment when autumn begins in the Northern Hemisphere (if measured as astronomical season) and there are equal hours of light and dark.
