As professional artist educators working in Norfolk / Suffolk we – Kaitlin Ferguson & Genevieve Rudd – have found that working in these industries can sometimes feel isolating and like you stuck out on an island – so we have decided to put together a network for freelance practitioners.
You may define yourself as a Community Artist / Artist Educator / Artist Facilitator / Arts Practitioner or Socially Engaged Artist – if you are an Artist delivering workshops with communities, in schools, galleries, museums or with groups of any age – whatever the discipline you work in, you are welcome to join us.
The events will be a relaxed chance to socialise, in an informal and friendly environment. Chance to catch up and share experiences and touch base with others working locally.
We are in the early days of forming the network and want to put together our first social to find out what would be most beneficial for professionals in the field – whether this would be networking, speakers, sharing stories, creative collaborations or just catch to have a glass of wine and relax!
For our first get together we are looking at putting together a social on Monday 4th November between 6-8pm in Norwich city centre (Venue TBC depending on numbers). Let us know if this is something you’d be interested in or have any thoughts.
Event is open to all, feel free to share with other practitioners.
Full details of the network are found on the Facebook event page.
