Tuesday 13th March – 10am-4pm – Make Your Mark: stitched protest patches – free!:
Drop-in to create your own mini protest patch. Be inspired by the ‘Craftivism’ (craft & activism) movement to create a patch that expresses your values. Consider words like justice, equality, peace and change through hand-sewing and appliqué.
Thursday 15th March – 1-4pm – The Fabric of You @ £25 per person:
Create a one-of-a-kind textile art patch appreciating the important things in your life and exploring your personal identity. In the workshop, you’ll use a range of techniques such as hand-sewing and work with inspiring fabrics and embellishments. Take inspiration from artists who use ‘the self’ as their muse to create your own expressive artwork. At home the work could then be turned into a cushion or proudly displayed in a frame.
Basic hand-sewing skills would be useful for this workshop. In preparation, bring a list of 5 things that make up ‘you’ – this could be related to hobbies, families, life experiences or other aspects – that you’d be happy to explore during the workshop.
Suitable for ages 14+.
