In October 2022, I led two Future Creatives half-term programmes for University of the Arts London at Artpocket in Norwich. The Future Creatives workshops are for 7-11 year olds and 11-17 year olds, aiming to provid a supportive environment in which students can explore their creativity, develop their work and build their confidence, all while making new friends
During the workshops, we explored our interconnected relationship with plants through multidisciplinary sustainable arts techniques. This included drawing, photography, collage, Hapa Zome (the Japanese art of hammering plants to make colour!) and more. To close the week, the groups each undertook research into environmental campaigns and designed their own campaign mood boards, alongside ways they’d engage people in their eco-mission. It was such a pleasure to hear and see how young people will respond to the Earth they will inherit!
