I co-faciltated ‘Reparation Art’ program for Lambeth Youth Offending Team, London for 2.5 years. I worked with young people aged 13-18 referred from the YOT alongside arts and gardening colleagues. The project was ran as part of Creative Sparkworks‘ youth program
The young people designed and made artwork to positively benefit the local community, plus develop their own skills to reduce the rate of reoffending. They made screenprinting screens and stencils to design a range of cushions for a local disability day centre
Together with Progress London, we made a pebble mosaic circular patio for a local community garden. A local housing estate wanted to incorporate more plants in their outside areas, so the young people made a range of clay pottery planters. St Thomas’ Hospital dementia ward were gifted a set of handmade wooden frames with original still life drawings and paintings made by the group for the day centre
I led various arts projects at Family Mosaic housing association and supported housing sites across London between 2011 and 2013, as part of Creative Sparkworks‘ outreach arts program
I worked collaboratively with residents to create artwork for communal spaces and gardens, including mosaic stepping-stones and ceramic tile murals
Plus, I co-delivered a number of Corporate Social Responsibility projects to benefit Family Mosaic residents, including with Barclays, Telstra International and PricewaterhouseCooper/PwC UK
I led weekly textile crafts session for 2+ years at 240Project, London, an arts and health centre for adults experiencing of homelessness, addictions and mental health issues. In the sessions, I supported participants to create textile artwork and items, utilising felt-making, hand-sewing and repurposing materials. Items produced were then included in the annual exhibition
