In July and August, I worked with Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust delivering a memory, heritage and culture themed textile course. The workshop were attended by local residents, and covered a range of textile art skills, including printing fabrics, image transfer techniques, and using text in textile art. Ideas and inspiration is drawn from personal memories of Great Yarmouth from the attendees and features printed photographs, poetry and memorabilia from their personal collections.
The finished textile banners were exhibited at St John’s Church, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk from 7th to 11th September 2017 and at Skippings Gallery, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk from 6th to 15th November.

I led ‘Hapa Zome’ workshops at Return to Nature, Norwich. The nature and art event was curated by Kate Florence for Earth Day 2017. ‘Hapa Zome’ is the Japanese art of making prints from leaves and flowers by hammering them.
Over several sessions, I worked with ‘Next Stagers’ over 50s theatre and arts group at Marina Theatre, Suffolk. We designed and made table-top stage boxes with recycled materials, such as egg boxes, scrap fabrics and cardboard boxes. Each group recreated the set of an existing performance or musical, or made the set of a story they’d love to write.
At Out There Festival 2016, I delivered a weekend of paper flower head-dress workshops at SeaChange Arts’ Out There Festival in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk with artist Sue Tyler. The workshop was inspired by Frida Kahlo, Mexican culture and the spirit the Our There Festival. We supported children, families and festival visitors to create unique head-dresses to wear
At Out There Festival 2017, I worked on several décor making projects and workshops. I worked with Katie Utting this summer to design Mega Bunting. The decorations were made for installation at SeaChange Arts‘ Out There Festival. Look out for the dazzling decorations during the festival weekend from 16th to 17th September. Thanks to Arts Council England for supporting the project
As part of the BIG Balloon project, I worked with artist Matthew Harrison and SeaChange Arts this summer to create special decorations for Out There Festival in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. We worked with 10 community groups and around 100 local people, celebrating 10 years of Out There with 10 hot air balloons. The designs feature Great Yarmouth history and iconic landmarks. Local groups engaging with the project include Nelson Museum volunteers and Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Young Carers (GYGYC)
I worked with local families at Drill House/SeaChange Arts in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk to create rag bunting from scraps of recycled fabric.
