I was commissioned to run paper/willow flower 3D sculpture project with artist Sue Tyler. Working with families and local residents to create sculptures for the festival’s carnival parade and to decorate Great Yarmouth Library gardens for Great Yarmouth Arts Festival in 2016.
Plus, working alongside a group of artists and local residents with Great Yarmouth College to design, screenprint, gold foil and dip-dye a series of colourful festival banners. We also produced a range of tie-dyed and screenprinted t-shirts for a local samba band.
The flower sculptures have since been used as decoration at a number of events around the town, including Out There Festival 2016.
I worked with local residents and Lambeth council staff to create a handmade ceramic tile signage mural for the community workshop spaces at Remakery, London. Project delivered as part of Creative Sparkworks‘ community art outreach program.
Led weekly and monthly creative reminiscence arts sessions at Bupa nursing and care homes in the London and Hertfordshire areas throughout 2013. I worked with small groups, sometimes one-to-one, with the residents living with dementia, chronic disabilities, stroke rehabilitation and other health needs.
The arts activities ranged from printmaking to textiles to still-life drawing, often themed around the residents own lives and interests.
I co-led and designed a 3 month pilot arts and crafts program at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London for patients staying on the dementia wards. The workshops were created to be accessible and stimulating, utilising drawing, printmaking and felt-making activities, and open for patients, ward staff and relatives to join in together. The project was delivered as part of Creative Sparkworks‘ outreach arts program.
Working with recycled materials and filmed throughout the school’s grounds, the film’s storyboard was written by each cohort of pupils and connected with school curriculum for Key Stage 1 and 2. The project was delivered during their establish Saturday school, part of The SHINE Trust education advancement program.
