I was very pleased to be invited onto the Sophie Little show on Friday 10th May to talk about my upcoming cyanotype workshops at Print to the People studios in Norwich. I brought along some examples of my cyanotype artwork and talked to Sophie about the process and heritage of the technique.
Cley 18, Cley Contemporary Art’s annual exhibition opens to the public today. My most recent work, created for Cley 18 in response to the exhibition brief, is on show at the education space at Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s Cley Marshes visitor centre.
The exhibition is open daily until 5th August and shows the work of 60+ Norfolk-based artists at St Margaret’s Church, Norfolk Wildlife Trust and the beach in Cley, north Norfolk.
To find out more about the artwork I produced for the show, take a look at my project page.
I’ll be exhibiting my new Jellyfish journey cyanotypes and mini-banners from the #SayItWithStitchGY project at the Space of Waste exhibition at Skippings Gallery, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk from 24th April to 1st May. Plus, I’ll be running a mini-banner drop-in on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April, anytime from 10am-2pm for £3!
This winter, I’m working on new artwork for my upcoming solo exhibition at Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s Cley Marshes, North Norfolk. The exhibition will be open daily from 7th to 20th March 2018. Alongside my new work, there will be older works such as ‘Threads of Summer‘ and ‘Reclaimed by the Wild‘.
To follow the progress of my new work, take a look at my Instagram feed for updates.
I’m very pleased to have my ‘Threads of Summer’ series and article featured in HAND/EYE Magazine. Read here for an abridged history of cyanotype photography and to find out about inspiration for this series of work. Artwork from this series will also be shown as part of my upcoming solo exhibition at a Norfolk Wildlife Trust site next year (details to follow soon!)
The last session of Create by the Coast was a special and imaginative day. We found a lovely spot amongst the trees on the grounds of Great Yarmouth Minster, Norfolk. First, we had a go at monoprinting – using found objects (such as leaves, daisys, feathers, etc) and doing drawings onto ink plates of the Minster and the surroundings. Then, we made creative things with found objects around the grounds. We created fairy huts, nests and nature mandalas. These items will be in the grounds until 9th September.
Plus, the project exhibition will be at Great Yarmouth Library, Norfolk from 4th to 9th September. It’ll be open to daily to all, including the informal evening showing with refreshments on Wednesday 6th September from 5pm to 7:30pm. Thank you to Norfolk County Council’s Arts Project Fund for supporting the project and exhibition.
