Create by the Coast, session 1 of 3, 29th July

Create by the Coast, session 1 of 3, 29th July

Lovely afternoon of walking, exploring, experimenting and making on/around Great Yarmouth beach for Create by the Coast‘s first session. We collected found materials and created sculptures using wire and string. Witches, hats, birds and icecreams emerged! Then we had a go at sand-casting hands – with a few broken fingers (the plaster that is!). It was fun to create with found materials and spend time outdoors. The next workshop, at Gorleston Priory Gardens, is in a fortnight and spaces are available to book. It’ll be creative, family-friendly and hands-on, and there are only 2 more left this summer! The project is supported by Norfolk County Council’s Arts Project Fund. Get in touch if you’d like more info or to book your place

Recently, I was awarded a grant from Norfolk County Council’s Arts Project Fund to deliver a series of environmental arts workshops in the Great Yarmouth area in July and August. We’ll be responding to the local landscapes through creative activities such as weaving, sketching and making temporary on-site art. There will be a project exhibition at Great Yarmouth Library from 4th to 9th September.

I’ll be talking on Harbour Radio, Great Yarmouth’s local station, about my Create by the Coast project on Tuesday 27th June. Looking forward to chatting to ‘Gorleston Gal’ from around 1:30pm onwards about the environmental arts sessions I’ll be leading around the town this July and August
